GUIDED & SELF GUIDED WALKS Whether you want to take yourself, or be taken by a guide, on an early morning walk to alocal natural attraction, or a full-scale three day trek into one the Snowy’s Wilderness areas, you can be assured there’s a track totake you there.
Pick from a virtual myriad of national parks and nature reservesin the Snowy and Canberra regions. Not all areas offer guided walks, so be sure to check with the local NPWS staff for lengths, supplies and precautions before you set out.
Experience the beauty and solitude of the Kosciuszko National Parkon a guided walk. Walkers are able to experience the grandeurand wilds of the Park in relative comfort while the guides lead you through outlying alpine terrain to a prepared campsite withcreature comforts including personal tents, rolled out bedding ready for your weary body and a change of dry, warm clothing. Some operators will even take over the hassle and hardship of carrying your equipment! Now there’s a luxury!

MOUNTAIN BIKING When the mountains shake off their snowy mantle during the spring, it’s not just the wildflowers that begin to show up on their slopes. Mountain biking is becoming an enormously popular summer activity catering for all ages, andthe Snowy Mountains region has many tracks and trails to explore.
Take the Chairlift up, and experience the famous Cannonball Run in Thredbo.. Bondi State Forest, a short distance south of Bombala, in the region’s southwest, has almost 90 kilometres of trails amongst beautiful native forest. Most townships offer a mountain biking area, so contact or visit the local visitor centre for more information
MOUNT KOSCIUSZKO The highest mountain on mainland Australia stands at 2229m. Being one of the world’s "sevensummits", many make the trek to the roof of Australia to takein the spectacular views and the unique alpine flora and fauna. Getting there on foot requires a 13km return journey from thetop of the Kosciuszko Express Chairlift at Thredbo. A longer trek, via Rawson’s Pass from Charlotte Pass, is an all day, morningstart affair, however one that is well worth the exertion.
